How to bulk send a document for eSignature
So you’ve got a document you want to send to a few people, maybe even a few hundred people? Getting a signature for one contract can take days of work, and for contracts to be sent out and signed by lots of people, that could take weeks of work. But, with eSignature software, you can send one standard contract out to as many people as you need, all at once. You can reduce your contract turnaround from five working days to a few clicks of a button with electronic contracts, so how do you send a document to multiple people to sign electronically? Here’s our super easy, step-by-step guide to our bulk send feature!
Set up your template to bulk send
Go to the ‘Templates’ section of your Signable dashboard. On the right, there will be a button that allows you to upload your contract to make it a template. You can upload PDFs, Word and Excel documents.
Once you’ve uploaded your contract, make sure it is prepared for one signer only. More than one signatory on your bulk send template will mean that you can’t create a widget. As only person will be signing each contract, only one signer should be set here.
You can check if this is the case by selecting the ‘Edit’ button, and every signer on the template will appear on the left side of the document. If there are too many parties added to the document, you will first need to remove any of the fields assigned to the excess signers, and then delete the party from the left hand side circle icon.
Create your widget
With your template set to one person, you can now create a widget. A widget is a unique signing page web address (or URL). On the right hand side of the document in the dashboard, there is a button to “Create Widget”.
Opening this allows you to copy some code or a link. You can either embed the code into your website on a particular page. However, more likely, is that you will need to send the link to a big list of recipients. This is the second option on the pop up to create a widget. Copy this link. This will link everyone you share it with to this contract to fill out, individually. This link will go into your bulk send email. Email it out!
Once the link is copied, paste it into an email with all of the signing parties addressed. You can use the Bcc option in your email to send blind carbon copies to your signers. This way, the recipients can’t see the names and addresses of the other receivers. Now, bulk send it off to as many people as you would like with a message of your choice. You have now learned how to send a document to multiple people to sign electronically!
The signing parties will receive the email with the option to add their own name and to sign an individual copy. As the sender, you will receive a copy of every single contract that has been signed. To complete the transaction, you will receive a verification email.
