Signable celebrates commitment to real Living Wage

Published:

We’re proud to share that Signable is now an accredited Living Wage Employer.

This means that everyone working at Signable now earns a minimum hourly wage of £12.60, higher than the government’s current minimum of £12.21 for over 21s. We’ve made this commitment because we believe that a fair day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

We’re based in the South West, where around 15.7% of jobs – that’s roughly 374,000 roles – still don’t pay the real Living Wage. That’s thousands of people falling short of a basic standard of living, even while working hard. That’s not good enough. So while we can’t fix everything, we can make sure that everyone at Signable earns enough to cover the real cost of living, not just scrape by on the legal minimum.

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate independently calculated based on what people actually need. It’s updated each year to reflect rising living costs – not government decisions – and gives employers like us peace of mind that we’re doing the right thing.

“At Signable, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Becoming a living Wage Employer isn’t just a label, it’s a reflection of how deeply we care about our team. It means making sure no one has to choose between heating and eating. It means recognising the real cost of living and doing the right thing because it matters. We want every person here to feel secure, respected, and supported, not just in their work, but in their lives.” Christina Green, Chief People Officer at Signable

We’re proud to join a growing movement of over 16,000 UK employers – from independent businesses to household names like Burberry, Barclays, and Everton FC – who believe that paying the real Living Wage is a mark of respect, fairness, and responsibility. Since the campaign began over 20 years ago, it’s helped put more than £3.6 billion back into the pockets of low-paid workers, making a real difference to millions of lives across the UK.

Katherine Chapman, Director of the Living Wage Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that Signable has joined the movement of responsible employers who voluntarily go further than the government minimum. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer, and they believe – like we do – that everyone deserves to live with dignity.”

At Signable, this is about more than just a payslip. It’s about doing the right thing by our people, backing up our values with action, and creating a workplace where everyone feels secure and supported. We’re committed to growing a business that’s not only successful, but also fair, where dignity, respect, and opportunity aren’t optional extras, but the foundation we build on.

Becoming a Living Wage Employer is one step forward and we’re proud to take it.
